GEEARS’ Annual Luncheon Features Matt Ryan! 

On Thursday, November 21^st, GEEARS will host our annual luncheon and our headliner is super exciting: Former Falcons quarterback and children’s advocate, Matt Ryan.

1. Our setting overlooking the elephant habitat at Zoo Atlanta couldn’t be more charming. It’s an intimate venue where Ryan’s speech will feel more like a meaningful conversation. A treasured Atlanta icon, Ryan will inspire you whether you’re a sports fan or just a dad stan. Host Committee members and sponsors will be invited to a private post-event photo op and Q&A session 
2. For their efforts through Rotary Club of Atlanta to offer early educators training to improve retention in the field, Shan Cooper (CEO of Journey Forward Strategies, LLC) and Randall Kirsch (co-founder, owner, and partner at Jackson Spalding) will receive our Early Childhood Champion Award. This honor recognizes individuals who represent the interests of young children by fomenting systematic changes in policy and practice at the local, state, or national level.  
3. We’ll also honor Dr. Jay Berkelhamer, past president of American Academy of Pediatrics and one of GEEARS’ founding board members. He will receive our inaugural Early Childhood Legacy Award, which recognizes an individual’s cumulative efforts in early childhood advocacy over a period of at least 15 years. Jay demonstrates successful dedication to the needs of young children and their families and his efforts inspire others to become early childhood advocates.
